God

by Shannon Byous

Time after time many of us hear other people's stories: Bible stories, missionary's stories, stories about friends of friends. Or we have our own stories... about what happened way back when; what happened years ago. We even hope in stories for the future and call them dreams and vision... but what about now?

Waiting on God

by Sonya C. Triggs

Sometimes it seems we have to wait on God for so long. We know God has made us certain promises. Or we’ve read about how He answers prayers in the Bible. And, while that seems well and good, in our case, and in our specific instance, He just doesn’t seem to be coming through. Which always brings me to the question – Why does God make us wait so long? Doesn’t the Bible promise that He will answer us when we call? More

Pro-Life, Pro-Choice, Pro-Claim!

Ministering to Our Younger Inner-City Sisters
By Violet T. Barry

As a mighty woman of God many people are looking to you to see how you are truly living. A lot of times as women, we are planting seeds for our other sisters without even knowing that we did. No matter where you go, people are observing you whether it’s while you are out and about running errands in the streets, attending classes, on the job or interacting with your family, church and community.

There is a young lady that I met during the 2005 holiday season because of a request made from another Sister-in-Christ who said that a lot of the women at the church had tried to minister to this young person but no matter what way they tried to come at her, she kept saying that none of them could possibly understand her plight and therefore had nothing that she wanted to hear. Regarding the Gospel of Judas

by JM Leary

I am continually amazed at the ability of the modern press to show it's own colors to an apparently colorblind nation. Recently there has been a swarm of coverage around the Gospel of Judas, an apparent recent discovery, and insightful document concerning the relationship between Jesus Christ and Judas Iscariot.

What the press failed to mention is the wealth of information regarding the Gospel of Judas, it's origins, meanings, and impact on Christianity. More

You're Thinking Too Much!

Sonya C. Triggs

How much time do you spend over-thinking? I know- we don’t like to think of it that way.  We call it analyzing, meditating, ‘figuring things out’ and other euphemisms that cover up what we are really doing:  thinking too much.  How do you know when you’ve over-thought something?  Read on to find out some of the signs More

Lean on Me

Butch Shramek

One blistering hot July afternoon while sitting at my oldest son’s baseball game... thinking of all the things I had to do and places I had to be...This day I had to bring my youngest son along. My wife was working and there was no one to watch him, so he begrudgingly had to come to his older brother’s game. I’m sure he was thinking of all the other things he could be doing on a hot summer afternoon as well. More

5 Steps to Passing Life Exams

In life there are no accidents or coincidences. Everything that happens has been divinely orchestrated by God for our good. However, because of man’s blurred perception, because of ego, we cannot see the plan of God in the light of being a benefit. More

Going Where God Leads You

Archie Lawhorne

When God calls you to do something, you can be sure He will give you the means to see it through. That’s how circumstances have unfolded for Archie and Pauly Lawhorne since God put it into their hearts to adopt a child. More

Practicing Early Time With God

Demetria Zinga

“Spending time with God is something every Christian woman should set aside time for.” Perhaps this is a fairly common statement that we’ve heard all too often. We all know this to be true, and yet it still seems to be a most incredible struggle to obtain that blessed time with God each and every day of our lives. So, how do we wear all the hats and still have time to be still and quiet in God’s presence? More

Living Without Debt

by Richard Mallenar

The average consumer carries about $6,000 of credit card debt. It's not that anyone plans to stay in debt by using a credit card over and over. It's just that paying with plastic is so much easier, and more fun, than shelling out those bills and coins. Still, if you want to avoid paying high rates of interest for this privilege and you want to get or stay debt-free, you will probably have to take a few proactive steps to escape this spending pitfall. Blood Brothers

Butch Shramek

At one time or another we have all been to a Men’s Breakfast, where we sit around, eat, pray and “talk”, and I am not trying to say that any of these things are bad. I love to eat (ask those who know me), and I love to pray. Talking? I guess it would depend on what you are talking about. The usual conversion at these breakfasts is about the kids, or wife, or golf. Superficial to say the least. Maybe that’s why not too many men attend them. More

Hmm where do I start? When I first read this article I was taken back. . .let me back up. I feel the article is very well written and valid. The quality of music our community accepts has a definitive misogynistic vulgar edge. My fault with the article lies within its incompleteness.  More
