Who We Are
We are a ministry promoting the
gospel of Jesus Christ, based in the Detroit, Michigan area.
We call ourselves Urban Christianz because that is what we are -
Christians dwelling in an urban environment. But, to us, being
a part of Urban Christianz is about much more than where we live -
we call it a state of mind. We think an Urban Christian is
someone who involves God in their everyday life, who can speak of
politics, current events, and the latest track from Byron Cage (who
we love, by the way!) all in the same breath. Someone who
listens to every type of gospel and Christian music - from the Mississippi Mass
Choir to Smokie Norful to Steven Curtis Chapman, but has the latest Kanye West, classic
Marvin Gaye or best of the 80's in their CD collections as well. Who
can worship in their jeans and jerseys, khakis and polos
or suit and tie. In other words, a Christian who is balanced,
aware, contemporary, and, most importantly, centered in God!
